RN to BSN Programs in Hawaii

According to the Hawaii State Center for Nursing, the number of Hawaiians over age 60 will increase by nearly 75 percent by 2020--double the pace of the U.S. as a whole. Hawaii's healthcare system is bracing for the overwhelming demand this places on its services, and for the nearly 60 percent of registered nurses that plan to retire within the next 15 years. Although Hawaii's 8,930 registered nurses' annual median wage of $80,020 is one of the highest in the country, the state still expects a shortfall over the next 15 years, and a growth rate of 28 percent. While much of this demand will be from hospitals, an increasing number of nursing positions will be found in retirement communities, nursing homes, and home health companies. Now is the time for RNs with associate degrees to enroll in RN-to-BSN programs.
